14 nov 2012 - Salomon Meij wrote an iPad Mini review. “With the display, software and the Smart Cover underwhelming, the whole device must be a bit of a bust, right?”
“The truth is that the mini is a pleasure to use. The best tablet, the least innovative. Where Apple was never afraid of asking developers to rework their apps and optimize them for new devices and screen sizes in the past, here they decided, in a very Microsoftonian fashion, to put backwards compatibility first. This results in a tablet that launches with a vast library of mature software, but also results in a tablet that is by it's very nature a compromise. No app will ever be optimized for the mini. Ever. And this means that the mini will never be as polished an experience as the full-sized iPad.”
